FAQ

  • Can you give me an estimate from a picture?
Unfortunately, we can't give accurate estimates from pictures as it's impossible to tell what work needs to be done unless we can properly observe the vehicle. At razor bodyworks, we prioritize providing our customers with precise and detailed quotes, and for this reason, we offer free, no-obligation quotes when you drop by our facility. Our experienced technicians will assess your vehicle and give you an accurate estimate tailored to the specific work needed, ensuring transparency and confidence in our services. We believe in providing personalized and trustworthy service, and our free quotes are just one way we demonstrate our commitment to our customers' satisfaction.
  • How can I be sure of a good colour match?
Here at Razor Bodyworks, we are dedicated to achieving an exact color match for all vehicle repairs. Using an advanced colour matching system combining paint scanning and colour coding ensures a perfect paint match every time. In the event that our color chips are not precise enough, we utilise a state-of-the-art spectrometer that allows us to create a bespoke formula for your vehicle. This ensures that we refuse anything less than a perfect color match, so you can trust that your vehicle will look flawless after repairs.
  • Can bumpers and panels be repaired?
Yes, at razor bodyworks, we specialize in repairing both plastic and metal car panels. Plastic bumpers can be repaired relatively quickly with minimal equipment such as sandpaper, filler, primer, and paint. The process involves sanding down the damaged area, applying filler to create a smooth surface, and then priming the area before painting. Similarly, metal panels on cars can also be repaired if they are dented. Our skilled technicians are experienced in using the appropriate techniques and equipment to restore both plastic and metal panels to their original condition. Whether it's a minor scratch, dent, or more extensive damage, we are dedicated to providing high-quality repairs to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Do you do mobile repairs?
No, we don't do mobile car body repairs. Come and visit us at our bodyshop and we'd be more than happy to assist you with any repairs you may need. At razor bodyworks, we provide high-quality car body repair and restoration services at our carefully equipped bodyshop. Our experienced technicians are dedicated to delivering top-notch workmanship and exceptional customer service. • What is a SMART repair?
SMART repair is an acronym for 'Small to medium area repair technique'. SMART repairs use specialist tools and materials to fix modest amounts of damage to a localised area of your vehicle, blending the paint into the surrounding area to make it look as good as new.
  • Will my car ever be the same again after a partial or full respray?
Yes, at razor bodyworks, we guarantee that your car will be repaired and resprayed to its original specification. We are a reputable garage that is manufacturer-recognized, and we use only high-quality paint and respray equipment and paint systems to ensure a high-quality finish. Our team is dedicated to restoring your car to its original condition, so you can trust that your vehicle will be returned to you looking as good as new.
  • Do you repair stone chips without a respray?
Yes, at razor bodyworks, we are able to repair stone chips on your car. Our professional garage can normally touch up stone chips rather than doing a complete respray, depending on the size and location of the chips. Our skilled technicians are trained to carefully assess and repair the stone chips to ensure a seamless and long-lasting finish.
  • What is paint-less dent repair?
Paint-less Dent Repair (PDR) is a technique used to remove small dents without the need for painting. It involves massaging the dent from the inside of the panel, preserving the original paint finish. At razor bodyworks, we utilise PDR as a cost-effective and efficient method for repairing minor dents. This technique allows us to restore your vehicle to its original condition without the hassle and expense of traditional bodywork. By choosing PDR, you can save time and money while maintaining the resale value of your vehicle. Our skilled technicians are trained in this specialised method to ensure high-quality results for our customers.
  • Can I choose where to get my car repaired after an accident?
Yes, in many cases, insurance companies may provide you with a list of preferred car body shops. However, it's usually your right to choose where you want your car repaired. At razor bodyworks, we respect your autonomy and believe in providing excellent customer service. We are willing to work with your insurance company and ensure that your car is repaired to the highest standard. Our team is dedicated to meeting your standards and ensuring a smooth process from start to finish.
  • Is it worth claiming on your car insurance for dents or scratches?
If the damage to your car is minor, such as a few small dents or shallow scratches, it may be worth considering repairing it without making an insurance claim. However, if the damage is more severe, such as large dents or deeper scratches, it is advisable to make an insurance claim. At Razor Bodyworks, we understand the importance of addressing both minor and severe damage to your vehicle.
  • Do I have to pay my excess even though the accident wasn’t my fault?
In most cases, yes. However, this is dependent on the third-party insurance company admitting liability and providing written notification that the excess has been waived. Until we receive this notification, you will be liable for the excess. Rest assured that we will always provide you with an invoice and receipt for this payment, allowing you to claim the amount back from your insurer. At razor bodyworks, we strive to work with you and your insurance company to make the repair process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
